Opera Frontier delights both opera fans and opera-phobes. We revere opera. We faithfully excerpt from traditional scores and strive for technically excellent singing. But beyond that, we take outrageous liberties in the service of engaging our audience in unexpected ways . . . through radical changes of context and casting, through the introduction of elements from dance, popular culture, contemporary beat, and narrative. In this way, Opera Frontier redefines the way an audience experiences this glorious music.

  • Meghan Dibble, mezzo soprano, sings both operatic & musical theater roles regionally and around the Bay Area. She was last seen with Masterworks Choral as Madame Thenardiere in Les Miserables. Some of Meghan’s favorite theatrical roles to sing include Witch, Into the Woods; Dorabella, Cosi fan tutte; Suzuki, Madame Butterfly; Ruth, The Pirates of Penzance; Old Lady, Candide; Cherubino, Le nozze di Figaro & Mercedes, Carmen.  In addition to performing, Meghan is an active voice teacher as well as a collegiate faculty professor at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. In the moments away from music, Meghan is probably watching cat videos or scheming how to open a farmed animal sanctuary.
