  • Maria Mikheyenko (Soprano, Cross-over artist) is a native of St. Petersburg, Russia, performing opera, operetta, musical theatre, cabaret, Russian repertoire, and new works around the Bay Area. Theatre credits include My Fair Lady (Pacific Coast Repertory Theatre), Billy Elliot (Berkeley Playhouse 2017), Scrooge In Love, Where’s Charley? and Noël Coward’s Sail Away (42nd Street Moon), CHICAGO (Pacific Coast Repertory Theatre), a punk rock production of Pirates of Penzance (Berkeley Playhouse), and Kurt Weill’s Happy End (San Francisco Cabaret Opera).

    Among her favorite roles are Alaura Kingsley in City of Angels (Cinnabar Theater), Mrs. Nordstrom in A Little Night Music (Hillbarn Theatre), and various saints and sinners in the revue Berlin to Broadway with Kurt Weill (Masquers Playhouse), Maria can be heard on the original Cast Album of The Fourth Messenger, a new musical with book and lyrics by Tanya Shaffer and music by Vienna Teng: www.TheFourthMessenger.com

    She has performed with Pocket Opera, Berkeley Opera, Capitol Opera Sacramento, Oakland Opera Theater, Bay Shore Lyric Opera, and the Austrian American Mozart Academy of Salzburg. In the world of contemporary music, Maria has had the honor of premiering several roles in chamber operas by Bay Area composer Lisa Scola Prosek, including Lucifer (Belfagor), an Iraq War Contractor (Trap Door), Salai (Leonardo’s Notebooks), and Stalin’s Nurse (Daughter of the Red Tzar). Other world premieres include John Bilotta’s award-winning Quantum Mechanic and Trifles, based on the novel by Pulitzer prize-winning author Susan Glaspell.
  • As a member of the Grammy-winning ensemble Pacific Edge Voices, Maria had the privilege of collaborating with music legends Bobby McFerrin, Meredith Monk, and Dave Brubeck, and can be heard as a featured soloist on Brubeck’s CD Songs of Praise on the Dorian Label.

    Maria has a BM in Voice from University of Michigan School of Music and a MM from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. She studied Commedia dell’Arte in Italy with Maestra Antonio Fava at his Scuola Internazionale in Reggio Emilia, is a voice-over artist and guest composer for PuppetART Detroit Puppet Theatre, and teaches singers of all ages.
